Business Development Partner
Open doors and close business for ICore Blocks with engineering organisations in automation, robotics, control and embedded systems. A partner arrangement, paid on results.
Read this first. This role is only open to people already working in the automation, robotics, control or embedded systems industry, with live contacts there. We are not hiring general salespeople, and a network built in another sector will not work here. If that is not you, this post is not for you.
1About us
Integrated Core Systems builds ICore Blocks, a block-diagram simulator and code generator for control, robotics and machine-learning systems.
- A block library covering control systems, machine learning, robotics and system identification.
- Exports a model to ten languages: C, C++, Rust, Python, MATLAB, Java, VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog and PLC Structured Text. The generated code runs on PLCs, microcontrollers, FPGAs and robotics stacks.
- Verifies its own output. The exported code is built, run, and compared against the simulation sample by sample.
- Imports and exports MATLAB/Simulink models.
- Runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, and is also available as a C++ SDK that customers link into their own software.

2What you would be selling
- LicencesUp to USD $28,000. Desktop licences, either for individual engineers or for a whole engineering group.
- SDK and integrationUSD $30,000 to $500,000. The customer embeds the engine inside their own product. These include redistribution rights, floating seats, and our engineers fitting it to the customer's toolchain.
Integration deals are the large ones, and the main reason this role exists.
All pricing is public, including every axis a quote is built from, so you can talk numbers openly from the first call.
3The role
We are looking for people with existing relationships in engineering organisations to open doors and close business for us. This is a partner arrangement, not a staff position. You work your own network, on your own schedule, and you are paid on results.
4What you would be doing
- Find companies that would embed the engine in their own product. Industrial automation and robotics platform vendors, machine builders, OEMs, test and tooling companies, systems integrators. These are the largest deals.
- Find engineering teams that would license it. Groups deploying control, robotics or embedded ML to PLCs, MCUs, FPGAs or robotics stacks, across aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, energy, medical devices, defence, robotics and universities.
- Qualify them: what they build, what they deploy onto, what tools they use now, and what it costs them.
- Arrange and support technical demos. Our engineers handle deep technical questions. You own the relationship and the commercial thread.
- Negotiate and close, from single seats to site licences to SDK and enterprise agreements.
- Resell, refer or co-sell alongside your own consulting or training practice, if you have one.
5Compensation: read this part carefully
This role pays commission only. There is no salary, no base, no retainer, and no payment for time, activity, or effort. You are paid when a deal closes and we are paid.
- Your rate15% to 20% of everything you sell. The exact rate within that band is set in your partner agreement and reflects deal type and volume.
- LicencesRun up to USD $28,000, depending on configuration and seat count.
- Integration contractsRun USD $30,000 to $500,000.
- RenewalsRecurring subscriptions pay you the same 15% to 20% on every renewal, for as long as your partner contract with us is active and your name is assigned to the subscription account.
- LimitsNo cap, no territory ceiling, no quota.
On those numbers, a single integration contract is worth USD $4,500 to $100,000 to you, and a licence sale up to USD $5,600, with the subscription trail on top of it.
Payment terms
We pay commission only after the customer has paid us. No commission is issued in advance of cleared funds, on any deal type.
- Licence and subscription salesPaid within 15 days of the customer's payment reaching us. Where a customer pays in instalments, your commission is paid pro rata as each instalment arrives.
- Integration and contract engagementsPaid 30 days after the invoice date, or within 15 days of the customer's payment reaching us, whichever is later. Payment is also conditional on the engagement not having been cancelled by us or by the customer before it falls due.
6What we provide, and what we do not
- A full software licence for demos
- Product and technical training
- Sales materials
- Pricing authority within an agreed band
- Engineering support on calls
- A registered-lead system, so two partners never work the same account
- Expenses
- Travel
- Equipment
- Leads
- A territory guarantee
- Any payment before a closed sale
You cover your own costs of doing business.
7Who this fits
- Independent sales agents, manufacturers' reps and channel partners already selling engineering software, tooling or automation hardware into these industries.
- People who have sold OEM, embedded or licensed-component deals before, where the customer puts your technology inside their own product. This is our largest deal type and the hardest to find people for.
- Consultants and trainers in control systems, embedded development or model-based design with a client base that already has this problem.
- Former Simulink, dSPACE, Vector, NI or PLC-vendor salespeople who kept their contacts.
- Distributors and resellers of engineering tooling looking to add a line.
8Who this does not fit
Anyone who needs predictable income while ramping up. Anyone starting from zero contacts in these industries. Anyone expecting us to supply leads. Commission-only works when you bring an existing network, and it is a poor deal for you if you do not.
9Requirements
- A demonstrable network among engineers or technical decision-makers in at least one of the industries above.
- A track record closing technical or capital-goods sales.
- Enough technical fluency to hold a credible first conversation about simulation, code generation, embedded deployment, and what it means to link an SDK into someone else's product. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should know what a solver, a control loop and a build toolchain are, and not be thrown by the words PLC, FPGA or redistribution licence.
- Legally able to operate as an independent contractor or registered business in your country, and to invoice us.
- Fluent English is required. Experience with any additional language is a great asset, as the market is global.
10How to apply
Apply through the application form. It takes your CV, any other documents you want to add, and a short note. Send us:
- Your CV. Required. The form will not submit without one.
- A short note on the network you would be working and which industries it sits in.
- What you have sold before and to whom. Deal sizes welcome.
- Your best guess at which three organisations you would approach first, and why.
The last three can go in the note on the form or in a document of their own. We reply to everyone who sends all four.
11Equal opportunity and accommodation
